In 2025 we had a few changes within Hogia'r Ddwylan with John Parry retiring as Choir Secretary and Steve Fenton retiring as Choir Treasurer, both after many years' service.
It was very fitting therefore to commemorate and celecbrate both for their invaluable contribution to Hogia'r Ddwylan and to allow the members of the choir to show their appreciation for all the hard work over many, many years by having a party at the Bulkely Hotel in Beaumaris at the beginning of 2026, where both were presented with gifts from the choir as appreciation for all their hard work.
John Parry, a member since the 1970s served as choir secretary for many years and during this time went above and beyond the call of duty and oversaw many concerts and trips over this time, including trips overseas, all over Wales and the UK and a few times down to Cardiff to sing before Welsh Rugby Union internationals at the Principality stadium.
It is safe to say that JP was (and still is) an invaluable member of Hogia'r Ddwylan and his contributions as a hardworking, dilligent Choir secretary have ensured he will be remembered as one of the most important people in Hogia'r Ddwylan's rich history.
Steve Fenton was Choir Treasurer for over 13 years and during this time he truly showed his worth as a diligent, dependent member of the choir commitee.
During this time he has worked tirelessly, ensuring the financial side of the choir has run smoothly and has overseen many concerts, trips and other events. The work of a treasurer never ends and it's safe to say that he will be big shoes to fill.
Steve as well as being an important member of the choir and the second tenors is a great person and his only fault being supporting Southampton!!!
