Hogia’r Ddwylan probably has the most romantic of all the names of male voice choirs in Wales reflecting the magic of its native environment. Literally translated it means ‘The boys from the two shores’ and refers to the fact that the members are drawn from villages and towns adjacent to the Menai Straits, on the fringes of Snowdonia; one of the most beautiful areas of Wales. The choir was established in 1966 and over the years, have won several times at festivals in Wales and beyond, including the National Eisteddfod. Concert tours abroad have included countries in Europe and the USA. The choir has also enjoyed singing at the Principality Stadium on a number of occasions. Rehearsals are held in Llanfairpwll.
