Brand new song

The choir made the decision at the end of last year to commission a brand new song and who best to contact than Robat Arwyn, one of Wales' best musical composers. Originally from Dyffryn Nantlle in the beautiful Eryri National Park but now living in Ruthin he is a renowned songwriter and his notable compositions include "Anfonaf Angel" and "Benedictus".

The resulting song is "Hon yw'r Gân" (This is the song) and as expected the music is wonderful and catchy. The Welsh words to the song were written by the poet Dr Llion Jones and are based on, and vividly bring to life the origin of the choir in Menai Bridge and reflect the Latin motto seen on the choir's badge "Pontem Facimus Carmine" which means  building a bridge through song.

Hon yw'r Gân is a special song that we have no doubt will be in the choir's repertoire and will please audiences for years to come.
